Project Rules:

Development Period:

  • All code for your project must be written during the hackathon

  • Projects must be submitted on Devpost before 11:30 AM on February 2nd, 2025 

Hardware:

  • You are allowed to plan your project out in advance. It is permitted to 3D-print parts or prepare other structural components for hardware projects.

  • Participants are permitted to use any open-source software or datasets for projects and credit must be given. Plagiarism is not tolerated, and any teams with plagiarized work will be disqualified.

  • Submissions must include all design assets and source code (e.g. via a link to your GitHub repository).

Participants must cite code (including tutorials), and any resources used for inspiration / learning. This includes the URL of the source used, and the lines / file used.

 

General Code of Conduct:

 

  1. Respect and Collaboration:

  • Participants are expected to maintain a respectful and inclusive environment.

  • Harassment, discrimination, or inappropriate behaviour will not be tolerated.

  • Participants should value the contributions of all team members and work together constructively.

  1. Fair Play:

  • Teams must adhere to the rules and refrain from engaging in any dishonest practices.

  • All work submitted must be created during the hackathon unless otherwise specified.

  • Plagiarism or the use of pre-existing solutions without acknowledgement is prohibited.

  1. Support and Resources:

  • Mentors and resources will be available throughout the hackathon to support participants. 

  • Teams are encouraged to seek help if needed, and mentors are expected to provide guidance without taking over the project.

  1. Safety

  • A designated staff supervisor will be present throughout the hackathon and is responsible for overseeing the well-being of all participants.

  • While the staff supervisor is responsible for maintaining a safe environment, participants are also expected to act responsibly and follow all safety guidelines.

  • Report any safety concerns or incidents to the staff supervisor or organizers immediately.

  1. Code of Conduct Enforcement

 

  • Violations of the code of conduct will result in appropriate actions, which may include disqualification or removal from the event.

  • All participants are expected to report any violations to hackathon organizers.
